TECNO launches Phantom X in Ghana

Published

on

TECNO Ghana has officially launched its latest device in its Phantom series – the Phantom X – its first high-end smartphone with 50-megapixel main and 48-megapixel selfie cameras.

This marks the return of the series after a Phantom device was not released in 2020.

The last Phantom was the Phantom 9 from 2019 and according to TECNO Training Manager, Cyril Amarteifio the Phantom X which has a 6.7″ Super AMOLED borderless curved display is a massive upgrade on the last device.

He said: “The Phantom X is our flagship device and the Phantom X is bigger and better than the previous version. Ghanaians can get one at stores across the country from July 5 at a cost of 2,795 cedis or by pre-order on the TECNO website”.

The Branch Manager Tecno Mobile, Northern Sector, Opoku Daniel added: “PHANTOM X isn’t just an innovative high-end smartphone; it empowers the modern extraordinary individuals’ way of life being bold to reject the ordinary, always strive for success and have the ambition to achieve new heights. Holding this spirit, we aim to continually make breakthroughs in product and design innovations as we have delivered through PHANTOM X”.

Just like the Phantom 9, the Phantom X has an in-display fingerprint reader with quick face unlock for bio-authentication and runs on an improved 12nm MediaTek Helio G95 chipset coupled with Mali G76 GPU.

The Phantom X also packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage and runs on HiOS based on Android 11.

The device is also powered by a 4700mAh with 33W fast-charging support with connectivity options including Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, GPS, FM Radio and Bluetooth. It comes in two artistic colours; Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Monet’s Summer.

The device was launched on Friday, July 2nd, 2021 at the Grand Arena – Accra International Conference Centre, Accra-Ghana.

It was officially unveiled by TECNO Brand Ambassador Stonebwoy who was later joined by his friends in the music industry to thrill the audience at the post-launch party.

Artistes who joined Stonebwoy at the post-launch bash included Ivorian music star Remy Adan, Ghana’s Mr Drew, Adina, Akwaboah, Sefa, Kofi Kinaata, and many more.

Fine Wine! R2Bees Break Hiatus With Eye Peeling Visuals For A King Promise & Joeboy Assisted Afrobeat Tune

Published

on

It’s another one for the ladies as R2Bees might just be describing their legendary status in the latest King Promise & Joeboy assisted jam titled; ‘Fine Wine’.

As timeless as they may seem, the Tema-based music duo ain’t ready to quit as they dish out sizzling hot visuals for their new tune directed by Century Films.

It wasn’t too long ago when one half of the duo, Omar Sterling aka Paedae, occupied the airspace with his viral 20-track album, “Same Earth Different Worlds”, and people ain’t even recovered from that yet. “Same Earth Different Worlds” has racked over 3.14 million streams on Audiomack and is still topping charts on Apple Music. You can stream “Same Earth Different Worlds” here on your preferred music store – https://www.lnk.to/omar-sterling-sedw.

You won’t be disappointed with the rasp and husk vocals of both Mugeez and Joeboy on ‘Fine Wine’ as well as the heart-melting silkiness of King Promise’s voice as icing on the cake.

Fast becoming one of Africa’s vocal delights, Joe Boy graces the potential cross-continental hit single with his slurry vibes and exotic diction that better projects the African Afrobeats agenda.

The man of the moment, Omar Sterling, also did poetic justice to the song with his love arousing yet thought-provoking bars on this joint.

It’s another R2Bees classic! Go stream ‘Fine Wine’ here – https://ziikimedia.lnk.to/finewine as you wait for the fourth album from R2Bees.

GlennSamm Fumes At Ghanaian Fashion Designers For Not Effectively Collaborating With Models

Published

on

Clearly, the impotence of the fashion industry has compelled efficacious multiple award-winning Ghanaian model GlennSamm better known as Samuel Glenn Semakor to register his displeasure about the current state of the fashion industry in a Instagram post.

Upon coming across the post, I reached out to him to dig deeper to find out his reason for making such a heavy statement. To my greatest surprise, he stated 3 key factors slowing down the growth of the fashion industry,

https://www.instagram.com/p/CQp35CkBo6g/?utm_medium=copy_link

  1. Lack of Collaborations:

Just like every fashion designer has a target audience to appeal to, every model equally has a target market to impress. But because of their egocentric nature, lack of respect for their craft and models, most fashion designers fail to collaborate with the right people to entice the right results.

  1. Disrespect from some designers:

Fashion designers and models are like Siamese twins, they complement each other’s office of competence to accomplish a greater goal or objective. One can never be respected if he/she is not respectful. Respect is like a mirror, it reflects any reaction projected in front of it.

  1. Unstable income:

Speaking from experience, most fashion designers hardly pay models for hiring their service. They feel as though they’re doing the model a favour or not. Forgetting that, without these models, their costumes are nothing before their targeted customers. According to him, the challenge the fashion industry is facing is bigger than it seems. If models are not important, fashion designers must stop staging runway shows with immediate effect.

With his Afrocentric fashion sense and royal appearance GlennSamm has been featured on many international publications like BBC, Vogue Magazine, just to mention a few. Beyond that, he has also worked with the likes of Stonebwoy, Ice Prince, Wakayna, Jah Phinga and other notable names as PR. He’s a native of Keta in the Volta Region but resides in Ashaiman.
